Employee story: partner and CIO Samuel

Premico’s partner and investment director Samuel Tuomola’s work requires social skills, the ability to understand the big picture, and close monitoring of the real estate market. In his role, it is important to understand where the market is heading and what the intentions of investors and tenants are.

What is your role at Premico? You are a partner and also have an operational role, how do these roles differ from each other?

I lead the acquisition of both newly built residential apartment buildings and so-called old properties for our residential funds and partners at Premico. Additionally, I am responsible for our private equity fund operations at Premico.

Most of my time is spent on operational work, but of course, the overall well-being of Premico is always on my mind. As an owner, one can never really ‘get away’ from the job, but I have been an entrepreneur my whole life, so it comes naturally to me. At times, distinguishing between the operational and ownership roles can be challenging, and they can never truly be separated completely.

What inspires and motivates you? What qualities and skills does your job require?

What excites me is working with people, helping them succeed in their jobs, bringing new ideas into practice, and, of course, negotiating and closing new deals.

My work requires social skills, the ability to understand the big picture, and close monitoring of the real estate market. In this role, it is important to understand where the market is heading and what the intentions of investors and tenants are.

What is the best thing about Premico, or what sets it apart from others?

The best thing about Premico is definitely the staff and the Premico spirit. It is exceptional. Furthermore, our uniqueness in the range of services we offer to the residential investment sector is special. We provide something that other players do not. We are particularly proud of how conscientiously we always consider the investor’s best interest and serve the owners. It is in our DNA.

What does the “Premico spirit” mean to you?

We are a unique work community. Even though we come from various backgrounds, education, and experiences, we are still one Premico. The team spirit is good, and the desire to help each other and the sense of belonging are at a high level.
