Harppuunankortteli is a new block of twelve apartment buildings near Turku Castle and Aurajoki. Asunto Oy Turun Harppuunan Kippari’s two apartment buildings are being built at the southern end of the plot. These six-storey buildings will comprise 95 rental apartments and one commercial space. The apartment sizes vary from 27.5 square metre studios to 78 square metre multi-room family apartments. In addition to geothermal heating, solar energy will also be utilized in these apartment buildings.

The goal of Premico’s third housing fund, Premico Residential Fund III, is to build approximately 1,700 new residential apartments by 2025, mainly in the capital region. The Fund is committed not only to carbon neutrality in its residential properties in terms of energy use during operation, but also to reducing the carbon footprint during the properties construction phase. All the fund’s assets will have energy efficiency class A, a BREEAM or LEED certificate and they will be fully compliant with EU taxonomy criteria for new construction. Premico’s development team acts as the construction consultant for all the Fund’s properties.

As a responsible builder, Mangrove is committed to the goals of Carbon Neutral Finland 2035. In addition, Mangrove has gained experience from several construction projects, where the objective has been high energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint and increasing carbon handprints. Therefore, Mangrove is a natural partner for Premico in the project.

“Mangrove’s agility and ability to take into consideration the requirements of environmentally responsible construction fit well with Premico’s strategy and is therefore a natural partner for us,” states Premico CIO Samuel Tuomola.

“Premico and Mangrove are united by the values of sustainable development and we are delighted with this cooperation. The Kippari project is our first project constructed according to BREEAM standards, and we expect the cooperation with Premico to contribute to Mangrove being an even more responsible builder,” says Mangrove CEO Jouni Hämäläinen.
