Premico participates in developing a common model for sustainability reporting in the real estate industry

Premico participates in developing a data model for sustainability reporting in collaboration with nearly 20 stakeholders in the real estate industry. The shared model accelerates and simplifies compliance with reporting obligations and enhances comparability.

The real estate sector has taken a significant step towards more transparent and harmonized sustainability reporting as required by the EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The directive obliges large companies, and later also medium-sized ones, to report not only on financial performance but also comprehensively on their environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts. This development brings both challenges and opportunities for the sector.

With a shared data model, real estate companies will be able to collect and present information in a standardized way. This not only supports regulatory compliance but also strengthens the credibility of the industry in the eyes of investors and other stakeholders. A unified reporting approach also enables more accurate comparison of different property portfolios, for example in terms of energy efficiency, emissions, and progress toward sustainability targets.

“A significant part of our sustainability efforts at Premico is to participate actively in dialogue and development within our sector. It is important for us to be involved in creating a common model for sustainability reporting together with other key players in our industry,” says Premico’s CEO Sami Kiehelä.

The project is coordinated by Rakli, withKTI Finland and Green Building Council Finland also participating.
